We used Corcoran Builders to completely renovate and extend a 1950s detached property we had bought, doubling the footprint and turning it into a substantial family home. Having already used Gerry and his team for a smaller project in the past, we felt confident they could help us complete a much larger scale build and we were not disappointed.

Corcoran Builders came highly recommended to us and we used them in 2021 for a sizeable single storey open-plan extension and reconfiguration of our kitchen and dining room, the results of which we are delighted with! Gerry carried out an extensive refurbishment of our house. The house was rewired, new hot water system installed, layout changes including moving the stairs and rebuild of a dormer conversion into a full store extension. We were really impressed by Gerry and his team.

The work started and finished on time even though the house gave us a few surprises along the way. Gerry was easy to work with and great at finding ways to deliver any bespoke items that we wanted e.g. new solid oak mantel to match existing beams, monkey tail banister. The finish was excellent, and all our visitors have been impressed. We would happily recommend Corcoran’s builders to anyone looking to have work done.

We have been so impressed with Corcoran Builders on all occasions that we have used them. Gerry takes time to understand what his customers want and is practical and professional. Nothing was too much, and every avenue was explored to make sure that our vision was realised. All of the team are reliable and trustworthy, and we felt ever so comfortable to have them working in our homes. We have been delighted with the quality of their work and they have always been a pleasure to work with. We would certainly use them again and we regularly recommend them to friends and family.

Whilst a small footprint, the building works required opening and supporting a relatively large opening to the front supporting wall of the house, excavations, soakaway drain, floor removal and included plumbing, the installation of electric underfloor heating, replacement of heating and boiler controls, a good few square metres of ceramic tiling, a vaulted ceiling, an external roof, and lifting, deep digging re-bar preparation and re-laying of many square metres of block paving.

Each and every one of the teams took great pride in their work which can be seen in the final finish. The external brickwork, roofing, flashing and the block paving of the drive had us and our neighbours very impressed as works progressed.

All of the teams were all extremely polite, and on a daily basis left the site secure and as neat and tidy or better than when they arrived. They put in long hours, and not once did they turn up late, leave early or disappear from site for days on end, always communicating what we could expect and when.

We have used many builders over the years. Corcoran are the only one we would recommend (we are very fussy!). The estimate and quotation process for our large two storey rear extension was straightforward, detailed and queries were answered promptly. The build phase was as smooth as it can be, the team are top notch, professional, friendly and take real pride in their work. Gerry managed them effectively with constant site visits and updates. The project was finished one week early and within budget, despite some unrelated / unforeseen extra work being needed as we progressed. The finish that the team achieved was very high quality. The minimal snagging was completed efficiently. We have recommended Corcoran to anyone that has asked and would do so again without hesitation. We’ve kept in touch, despite the work being completed a couple of years ago.

Gerry is a lovely guy and Corcoran would be our first choice for any future work, no question.
